Fall First session
Tuesdays 4 – 5:30
September 14, 21,28, October 5, 12, 19. Make up October 26 – 6 weeks
Drawing- using sketching pencils we will explore the various spectrum of drawing pencils and why and how we use them. We will explore tools and materials used with drawing and sketching; the children will be encouraged to experiment using many techniques. We will also be exploring with Charcoal pencil- we will experiment with charcoal drawing and learn about the various tools and techniques. Working in white on black as well as the traditional black on white.

September 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21, make up October 28
Watercolor for beginners- Exploring the world of everything watercolor. Creating a color chart and learning to blend color to create beautiful art. We will learn the basics of watercolor, tools, and materials. This set of 6 to 8 classes would cover many techniques using watercolor with a project with each class supporting the technique learned in the session.

November 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, December 7. Makeup December 14
Colored pencils and watercolor pencils– learn how to create and get the most out of the tools and materials for colored pencils. Blending and shading along with how to create a dynamic piece of art using colored pencils.

Journals – we will create our own journal from a full sheet of paper 19 x 22. Creating and surfacing pages with various art materials. learn to create fun impactful pages with water soluble crayons, gesso, colored pencils. Exploring watercolor and various techniques to create beautiful pages to create whatever our whimsy takes us. This class will help us to create our holiday art/crafts in the second half of this session.
Holiday gift giving– December 2, 9, 16- no class, Thursday, November 25
Jewelry, holiday star book, tile art, are among a few of the items for gift giving. In these next few classes, we will concentrate on gift giving for the holidays.
